THE COLLEGE JUMPSTART SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: The College JumpStart Scholarship is an annual, merit-based competition that is open to 10th-12th graders, college students and non-traditional students. The main requirement is that you are committed to going to school and can express your goals for getting a higher education. The first place prize is a $1,000 scholarship to help cover educational expenses. This award can be used at any college or university in the United States. HORATIO ALGER ASSOCIATION: The Horatio Alger Scholarship program provides financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have significant financial nee and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. The scholarships are given to deserving students each year and range in award value from $6000 to $25000. Eligibility cirteria includes: high scool graduation in the spring/summer, demonstrated financial need ($55,000 or lower AGI), and United States citizenship. THE PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARD PROGRAM: The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States' largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. The program was created to honor middle level and high school students for outstanding service to others at the local, state, and national level. The program's goals are to applaud young people who already are making a positive difference in their towns and neighborhoods, and to inspire others to think about how they might contribute to their communities. ALLEGRA FORD THOMAS SCHOLARSHIP: The Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship is a one-time $2,500 scholarship awarded to a graduating high school senior with a documented learning disability (LD) and/or ADHD who will be enrolled in a two-year community college, a vocational or technical training program, or a specialized program for students with LD and/or ADHD in the fall. ANNE FORD SCHOLARSHIP: The Anne Ford Scholarship is a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500/year over four years) granted to a graduating high school senior with a documented learning disability (LD) and/or ADHD who will be enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program in the fall. IPLSA STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP AWARD- $1,500- The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the undergraduate student pursuing a baccalaureate degree in land surveying from an accredited college or university, or a baccalaureate degree in a related science including at least 24 semester hours of land surveying courses from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Land Surveyors Licensing Board approved curriculum of an accredited institution. Applicant must be an Illinois resident attending an Illinois school. Deadline is Nov. 14, 2018.
COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD - $1,000 The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the student pursuing a career in the surveying profession. This scholarship is intended for students attending a Community College pursuing a degree associated with the land surveying profession. Deadline is Nov. 14, 2018.
THE HAGAN SCHOLARSHIP: Open to any senior who completed both Junior and Senior year in an eligible state, achieved a GPA of 3.5 or better, and scored at least 23 on the ACT. The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois Program is now recruiting high school seniors to apply for our teacher preparation program. Scholars are provided with extensive teaching experience and advanced preparation to supplement their college curriculum, academic support throughout college, college tuition-assistance and support (up to $23,000), and mentoring during their first years of teaching. In return, Scholars commit to teach in Illinois schools-of-need for five years after college graduation from an Illinois partner university. The Gold Star Mission works to ensure higher education is a possibility for the family and friends of Illinois Service Members who have lost their lives in service to our country.
Beginning with the 2018 award year, Gold Star Mission will award scholarships to individuals who exemplify selfless service and honor our Fallen Heroes. The Gold Star Mission allocates funds raised through the Gold Star 500 endurance bicycle ride to support the Gold Star Mission Scholarship Fund. Douglas County Republican Women: There are two (2) scholarships in the amount of $500.00 each available to two high school seniors living in Douglas County. The students will be asked to complete a Scholarship General Information Form, answer the questions completely, and submit 2 letters of reference. Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System Guild Scholarship Program: For over 40 years, the SBLHS Guild has offered scholarships to students pursuing a career in a health-related field. Requirements include full-time enrollment in a hospital-related clinical health care profession, Illinois resident, and a minimum of fa 3.5 GPA. Applications can be picked up in the guidance office. Deadline is April 15, 2019.
Tuscola Moose Family Center Scholarship: The Tuscola Women of the Moose will be presenting 2 scholarships of $500.00 each to to a graduating 2019 High School Senior. Applicant must have a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian of a Lodge 729 or Chapter 1011 member. Applications can be picked up in the Guidance Office. Deadline is April 19, 2019.
2019 Douglas County Republican Party Central Committee Scholarship Award of $500. The recipient will be announced at the Honors Day Program of the high school of such recipient. See the guidance office for the application information. Deadline for submission is April 22, 2019.
The “LaVern and Nola McEntire Lineworker’s Scholarship,” will be awarded to help pay for costs to attend the lineworker’s school conducted by the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives (AIEC) in conjunction with Lincoln Land Community College, Springfield, Ill. Deadline for submission is April 30, 2019.
Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative announces six $500 scholarships to assist members or dependents with their college education. To qualify, an applicant must be either a Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative member or under 21 years of age and a legal dependent of a Coles-Moultrie member. The applicant(s) must be enrolled in either a 2 or 4-year degree program at an accredited institution in Illinois. Applicant cannot have previously received a Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative scholarship. Coles-Moultrie Electric Cooperative employees, directors, and any of their dependents are ineligible. Priority will be given to one applicant who is specializing in Electrical Engineering.

ABBOTT AND FENNER SCHOLARSHIP: This $1,000 scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. At Caring.com, we understand the demanding lifestyle of student-caregivers and the challenges they may face. The Student-Caregiver Scholarship provides financial assistance to students who are caring for an adult relative while enrolled in college. Two scholarships of $1,500 are awarded each year to student-caregivers to help cover costs of tuition and books. Applicants must be full-time college students at an accredited two-or-four-year college or university in the United States, or full-time high school students who are registered to attend a qualifying institution the following semester.
Interested students can submit either a 1,500-word essay or a two-minute video addressing the following questions: Who are you caring for and how are you involved as their caregiver? How has your role as a caregiver influenced the decision for your major/career path? How would this scholarship be helpful to you in your current student-caregiving role?

Rosen & Ohr Law is sponsoring an essay scholarship to seniors planning to attend a college or university. Jan Egerton and Don Smitley Mesothelioma Scholarship: For the 2019 scholarship, applicants are to write an essay in response to one of the following prompts:
1. Share your personal story dealing with asbestos disease or cancer. Talk about how it affected your life and how/whether it impacted your education/career choice.
2. What do you hope to do with the education you are receiving to help cancer patients?
This scholarship is a great one for students interested in a medical career. There will be 4 prizes, ranging from $2500 for first place to $500 for fourth place.
